From the ’90s through the mid ’00s, Orange County Drum & Percussion (OCDP) was the ultimate punk rock (or insert your loud, irreverent subculture of choice) drum-making success story.
Built on the same custom shop DNA that put OCDP on stages around the world, these shell packs combine bold finishes, signature hardware and unmistakable attitude. Every detail, from heritage-inspired designs to iconic lug and hoop configurations, reflects the look and spirit that made OCDP a standout in the first place, now reintroduced for a new generation of drummers.
It all started as a ragtag group of drummers in a three-car garage in Lake Forest, California with not much more than a penchant for the unorthodox, an eye for flair, an ear for the next “big thing” and a drive that made their unbelievable surge into the mainstream inevitable. Its influence on alternative rock, pop punk, nu metal, metalcore and emo went far beyond what anyone would’ve expected from a tiny drum shop with 15 employees. The story of OCDP is fascinating, shrouded in pre-social media mystery and simply too long for this guide, so we’ll go ahead and fast-forward a couple decades here.
To tap into that mercurial mojo that had made its drums so unique and coveted, OCDP is relaunching in 2026 under the guidance of its original founder, Daniel Jensen, and longtime endorser, drummer Adrian Young of No Doubt. Luckily for you, that means seven new snares and two new shell packs to start, with that OCDP custom shop DNA and head-turning factor, and without exorbitant vintage-model going prices. (And, yes, before you do a double-take, the old-school rectangular OCDP badges are back, too.)
